The constitution of India wants to establish an equalitarian social order in which every citizen is guaranteed liberty equality and justice. It has been national endeavor to achieve the objectives since independence. The equalization of educational opportunities would pave the way for equalization of opportunities in all spheres of life.

The Govt. of India committed to ensuing that India will just not be a literate but a knowledge society capable of meeting of challenges possessed by the 21st century and will provide avenues to every person to realize his fullest potential through equities access to educational opportunities.

The Government have exempted various laws to give comprehensive facilities and various incentives to STs/Hill tribes  in the form of free education, reservation for admissions in to professional colleges to ensure that the Social, Culture, Economic and educational levels must have improved and such facilities also been provided. Many skilled teachers are required for agency segment of the society for meeting the socio culture and special ability needs of the clientele, to provide further inputs in teacher education to improve quality of secondary education, specially at remote pockets of agency area.

 The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh focusing on tribal education as the tribal society become dynamic and vibrant sector keeping pace with the changing needs of the society. Special focus must be done on teacher Education in this regard.  Hence the  Government realized and established a special B.Ed college at Bhadrachalam exclusively  for agency tribes which stands unique in India with an intake 200.

The  College of Teacher Education(Tribal Welfare) was established in the year 2000 as per GO. Ms. Nos. 86 & 70, dt.24.06.2000 by the Tribal Welfare department, being managed by ITDA, Bhadrachalam. It is the only college of its kind in India meant for agency tribes.
